The thesis will result in a modern critical edition of the Xth book of the De procuranda salute omnium gentium (1613) by Spanish Carmelite Tomás de Jesús. This book, a compilation about Islam of previous sources ranging from proto-orientalist to anti-Islam polemicist authors, deals with the proper manner to convert Muslims and was used by the first Congregatio Propaganda Fide as a prescriptive manual to the soon-to-be Middle East missionaries.
